Excessive FACE sweating - temporary solutions?

I have a thyroid condition that I'm being treated for, but on days like today - my face sweats SO BAD it's really gross and disgusting. Tomorrow I have to work as an extra in a movie and it's going to be 90+ degrees and humid. I won't be able to run to the bathroom and touch-up make up, etc...

So I was wondering... If I apply "Mitchum" (That EXTRA strong depoderant/anti-persperant) to the areas of my face that sweat really bad - is that safe to do? Or could I cause myself to break out really badly? I will also have to use a waterproof sunblock over it because we will be filming outdoors. I don't care if my face breaks out REALLY terribly the day AFTER the shoot - I just don't want to have an immediate reaction. No time for botox shots - even if I had it done TODAY - it takes 3 days for the botox to kick in. So that won't help for tomorrow. Any suggestions?
Excessive FACE sweating - temporary solutions?
I don't even have a thyroid condition but I do sweat excessively. If I have something like this were I will be getting pictures taken (usually for my singing photo/talent shots) there are two things you can do.

Go to any local Asian (Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese stores have these, I've never seen them in Indian stores) store and look for their loose rice powder (usually have them behind the clerks). Dab a bit of the powder over your problem areas right before the shoot. An alternative is to get really fine baby powder or talc (the unperfumed kind). It tends to help. Also avoid anything with oil or increased moisturizers on your face as this causes one to give off the excess oil and sweat to keep out some of the potentially harmful stuff in the creams.

The other thing you can do is use a Nigerian home remedy that really works:

Get an actual aloe vera sucker (any African store, fresh market, latino or health food store has this) and slice open the sucker (it looks like the head of pineapples only thicker). Use the succulent juice inside the sucker to rub all over your face like a mask. Leave it on for 3 minutes then rinse off. Do this a night before your shoot. Be warned, aloe vera tastes horrid so don't let the juice get on your lips and wear gloves when doing this because the taste sticks to your fingers for at least a day. Next crush 2 or 3 slices of cucumber with a sprig or two of mint (if you want the mint stronger you can nix the fresh mint leaves and crush Altoids (I know!) instead) and layer this on your face the morning of your shoot. Also leave this on for 3 minutes then rinse it off. You can follow it with a non-oil based moisturizer that you use sparingly. Not only will your skin feel wonderful, it will smell wonderfully exotic too %26amp; the mint causes a pleasant cooling effect (which is the reason your skin sweats anyway to cool you off)!

Also, most deodorants have aluminium based antipespirants as their main ingredient which while not so bad for your armpits might really inflame the hair follicles on your face causing the skin to be irritated or break-out. Not good! ;-( Who wants speed bumps/craters on their face? You might be called back for a re-shoot or something, then what happens?

Hey good luck with the shoot and the remedy really works! Remember, no oil based anything on your face for those 3 days! Report It

Reply:In our outdoor plays where temperatures can be 90 + degrees F and 99% humidity we use spray on antiperspirants. You have to close your eyes, hold your breath, quickly spray whole face and exposed neck, run away from the mist cloud, exhale through your nose and breathe in fresh air. You don't want to breathe the mist, it would harm your lungs.

This technique has been used for years. I remember one fellow having one drop of sweat eek it's way out of one pore on his cheek once. It was quite funny but the audience didn't know or see it. You could almost "hear" it squeezing out.

The spread on or roll on might leave a residue along with the sunblock which may interfere with your makeup. It might be runny and you don't want it in your eyes, makeup or deodorant/sunblock residues.

I would recommend this only for the one time and not as a new regime of hygeine.

Break a leg!
Reply:i have the same problem as you, i can hardly have a life cuz my head and face constantly drips sweat, people think im guilty of something or nervous, or on drugs, drink alot of ice cold water, wear a hat when your not shooting to mop up sweat without ppl seeing, run your wrists under ice cold water for awhile, this will cool your body temp. i would try applyin that to your face days before your shoot. it may turn your whole face red, and you can have a reaction. stay away from alcohol, nicotine, caffiene, illegal drugs, antihistamines. dont wear make up if your face sweats so much, it will just make a mess
