Does sweating during workout mean I'm burning fat?

In a round about way, yes. When calories are used they create heat. If you are using enough calories, that is converting them to energy, your body needs to cool itself off to avoid overheating and you sweat.

Reply:no. Sweat is only water weight. It will look like you weigh less on the scale, but that is becuz you have lost all of the water in your body, which can be very dangerous if the water is not restored. It means you need to drink more water. Calories are what need to be burned. Not water.

Reply:sweating is a natural reaction to the body's temperature going up, such as when you workout or when you are outside in 100 degree heat. it doesnt necessarily mean you are burning fat, it just means that your body is getting warm and trying to cool itself down by sweating.
Reply:no you are just cooling down and losing water so keep hydrated i hear that you should only check your weight every 2 months cause your water weight will keep going up and down so don't torture yourself by pushing through extra minuts just to sweat and weighing yourself every morning k?

Reply:Sweating means your body is cooling itself, from heat caused by 'burning' calories- whether from fat or not.





As you exercise you work/build muscles, limiting your calorie intake and its type(good food), and drinking water(zero calories and replaces water/weight lost) and you develop a healthier body.





Eating poorly is what does us in- fad diets kill more people than terrorists. No amount of exercise can undue the damage by poor food habits.





Some fat calories are being burned when you sweat.





But it is complex process. Fat deposits are the food bank of the body for hard times. Fad diets- ALL protein diets should only be used if you're special forces in special circumstances. DO NOT


eliminate fat from your diet. Get some sun(vitamin D), but don't burn! Eat fruit for breakfast, ALL the salad you want with ONLY olive oil, if you fry use olive oil, drink water(zero calories) ALOT of hunger is usually a cue for water needs, avoid alcohol and sugar/corn syrup drinks, and the next thing you know you'll be losing weight. Starvation diets trigger your metabolism to slow SO don't stop eating- JUST stop stopping at ANY fast foods regardless of their advertising!





A pound a week is an average acceptable weight loss goal.
