Does sweating help lose weight?

if so then does it mean by sitting in a sauna the pounds would just pop off?
Does sweating help lose weight?
Myth #3: The more you sweat during exercise, the more fat you lose.

Fact: The harder you work out, the more calories you'll burn within a given period and thus the more fat you stand to lose. But how much you sweat does not necessarily reflect how hard you're working. Some people tend to sweat profusely due to heavy body weight, poor conditioning, or heredity. And everyone sweats more in hot, dry weather or dense clothing than in cool, humid weather or porous clothing. (You may feel as if you're sweating more in humid weather; but that's because moist air slows the evaporation of sweat.)

Exercising in extremely hot weather or in a plastic "weight loss" suit will indeed make you sweat heavily and lose weight immediately. But that lost weight is almost entirely water; the pounds will return when you replenish your fluids by drinking after the workout. Further, you could develop heat exhaustion if you push yourself too hard in extreme heat or in plastic clothes. which prevent sweat from evaporating and, in turn, cooling you off.
Does sweating help lose weight?
no
Reply:sweating in terms of exercise- yes.

sitting on your **** sweating all day wont make a difference.
Reply:I'm not entirely sure but I think it just makes you lose water weight, which you'll just put back on again when you drink to rehydrate.
Reply:sure does and rids your body of toxics as well
Reply:You will weigh less after going in a sauna but its only fluid loss not fat.
Reply:water weight -- but then you get dehydrated, and the body will increase your appitite to get more fluid from your food because you stopped drinking water.
Reply:You temporarily will lose water weight, but you will gain it back after you rehydrate. Now, if you are exercising or doing aerobic activity while sweating that's another story...
Reply:no

sauna are used to circulate the blood flow in our veigns and arteries to help when we do exercise. This is better for exercise. Sweating in a sauna will clean our skin too but I would prefer to use a Steam room to do this.

To loose weight you have to physically exercise, and this can be any activity that last for more than 20 minutes. Hope I could of be of help, now pay me.
Reply:Your body uses energy when it endures temperature changes. This is because it employs its own heating and cooling systems to regulate and must metabolize to achieve this. This can be risky (expecially to the heart), but yes, changes in temperature can help to lose weight (but only a little). There is a limit to this though. No one has ever achieved their weight loss goals by sitting in a sauna. Is can be good to, in addition to exercise, drink water and sweat it out in a sauna. If you are trying to do something hardcore, build a routine which includes regular exercise intervals, body cooling, and sauna periods. It is very important to consider what your heart can tolerate and of course consult a physician.

You can also achieve temporary weight loss by force-dehydrating yourself in a sauna the way a wrestler preparing for weigh-in might. This is by no means healthy.
Reply:only until you have a drink
Reply:Not really.

Sweat is mostly water and some minerals. Human body when under physical stress ( exercise, heat ) overheats. Sweating is one of the most important ways of dissipating heat when evaporates on the skin surface.

The sweat water comes mostly from the blood water, some from muscle. Fat contains just 23 % water, while muscle contains about 73 % .

Of course you lose weight by sweating, but you need to replace the water lost by sweating imediately.

If by loosing weight you mean losing fat this is what you have to do:

1. Nutrition - eat less calories than you burn, ( about 300-1000 cal less/day, depending on your overweight degree). Eat 1-1.5 grams of protein for each kg of your body weight ( mostly from normal food), 10-20 % of your calorie intake should be fat (mostly vegetal) and the rest comes from carbs.

2. Exercise

a) strength training - maintains four fat free mass while losing weight, assuring you lose fat , not muscle

- maintain or increase you BMR - basal metabolic rate, enabling you to burn more calories during rest and exercise

- look thinner at the same body weight (compared with non trainees)

b) aerobic exercise - burns a lot of calories at a fast rate while exercising

3) Life style - be like a deer, not like a hipo

- walk where you need to go, climb stairs, do house work, etc

- sleep as much as you need

- do not drink too often and too much alcohol ( 1 gram of pure alcohol = 7 kcal)

Remember 1 kg of body fat = 7000 kcal

wish you good luck
Reply:Hi Tom Da Bomd I think I have the awnseer to your guestion. I think it is yes because that is how wrestlers make ther ewait also eatingn right but, they run to shed a few extra pounds.
