I work outdoors in Arizona and sweat heavily all day and my hair seems to be thinning is sweating the cause?

I've lived in Arizona all my life, and I've never heard of anybody losing hair because of sweating...but then again, dogs do shed in the summer time...

On the other hand, I think stress can lead to thinning hair.

And sun exposure can affect the skin of your scalp, which could affect your hair, I suppose.

Be sure to protect your skin with sunblock and a hat...skin cancer rates are pretty high in Arizona.

Hope you don't lose any more hair, but if you do at least you'll be cooler!

Due to sweating in summer i have got some pimples on my buttes. please give some advices?

Does sweating affect iPod earphones?

i don't think so cause one time i accidentally washed mine with my jeans and they still work...but i don't suggest washing yours
Does sweating affect iPod earphones?
yes it does it happened to my sister they blew up and stopped working.
Does sweating affect iPod earphones?
no but its gross, i put those foamy things on mine
Reply:I would think not. They are supposed to be pretty durable. =D
Reply:no, it wont, try not to put some water in it..
Reply:shouldnt... unless you are totally drenching them
Reply:yes. if it gets in the earphone it will make it not workor it will loose most of the sound.
Reply:yes, try to get other types of headphones, or headphone covers
Reply:im pretty sure it would since moisture does deteriorate the crap inside. Plus lets no forget there is salt in sweat and salt is very damaging to many materials. Ive gone through a good 5 different earphones and the same thing happens (they jus randomly stop working on me...).
Reply:i guess it could because sweat is like water.
Reply:i don't think so. i'm a photographer and i use my ipod mostly every hour of the day, i walk in the rain and little water sometimes fall on the earphones and nothing has happened to them yet... so i guess it's ok if u sweat a bit it's not gona harm them!
Reply:no, my ipod has gotten so sweaty, i stick it down my tee when i go runnung so i dont have to hold it, but its still okay
Reply:I dont think so unless you ears sweat. But I like skull candy earphones the best!
Reply:not so,

but just take care not to get sweat inside the head phone.

cover it with protective foam. m clean it periodically
Reply:water + electronics= disaster

if he is sweating a fricken river...then he might want to get some of those little foamy covers for the earphones. It will keep them from ruining.
Reply:It depends on if you have anything that makes you sweat but from what i know of no it does not effect
Reply:No, it does not effect Ipod earphones.

Only a liquid going directly on the earphones can damage it.

A little bit of sweat won't hurt earphones.

Does sweating make you lose water weight or body fat?

You lose water weight
Does sweating make you lose water weight or body fat?
water weight. water weight is what makes you look so bulgey. over time it will turn start burning fat.
Does sweating make you lose water weight or body fat?
Sweat is made up of water and salts. it takes alittle bit of energy to make you sweat but your losing almost entirely water weight
Reply:Obviously water weight. You cant sweat fat out =) We can wish that.
Reply:water weight...unfortunately not fat
Reply:Mainly water weight, but how much you sweat isn't a good measure of how much you lost....it's and indication of heat in the body. Since we cool from the outside in the sweat on the surface of the skin is cooled by air flow over it....Even if you sweat a lot, and it differs for all people, you may lose a pound or two.of water weight...

Does sweating when your sick help you get better? Say in a bath or something?

Greetings. Sweating when you are sick is one of your bodies defense mechanisms against the things that try to infect you. Works well on many organisms like flu or rhino virus. Many diseases are temperature sensitive, which is why only certain creatures are attacked by them. If your body is invaded or infected by a foreign agent it can many times heal itself by changing its temperature to one the invading organism cannot tolerate. Note that often it is mentioned that when the fever breaks the patient is on the road to recovery. Also note that many countries like Finland use Sauna's to raise the body temperature to cleanse it when one is ill. Works a amazing number of times. a Sauna is only actually a artificial fever when you get down to it. Many people in the world use it and it is not addictive nor is it habit forming in a chemical way as too many medications tend to be. And sweat is one of the ways that your body gets rid of liquid agents that it wants to clear out of the body. Which is why sick people tend to smell different then healthy people do. So sweat, cleanse the body of unwanted liquids and fever to change the host temperature. helps at times.
Does sweating when your sick help you get better? Say in a bath or something?
if youre having a fever just put a wet towel on your head and take a nap drink plenty of water when you've sweat it all out you will feel alot better i promise
Does sweating when your sick help you get better? Say in a bath or something?
No, it's an old wives tale. Take some asprin or paracetamol, keep warm and rest. Hope you get better soon.
Reply:I like go into my shorts %26amp; t-shirt to cool off during the cold winter months if I am sick.

Then you get that cold feeling , so I am back to snuggling in my blankets if I get that sick cold.
Reply:Sweating helps to maintain the temperature of the body. When a person has fever he sweats due to high temperature of the body. Sweating helps to cool the body so as bath which cool down the body temperature. Sometime Ice bath is necessary.
Reply:No. Sweating may be a sequelae of being sick, ie having a fever, but it does nothing for the underlying process

Does sweating clear up acne?

No, it does make it worse by clogging your pores. However, by exercising and sweating, you are increasing your blood circulation throughout your body to improve getting rid of toxins and increasing oxygen to your skin cells. This can help clear up acne, but after a workout or sweating, you need to be sure you wash your face/body with mild soap and water. The cooler your body temp stays, the better your complexion.

Does sweating clear up acne?
I doubt it. It probably makes it worse.
Reply:sweating can cause acne
Reply:no, it gets in your pores and makes it worse.
Reply:no but being out in the sun will clear it up the sun kills the bacteria on your skin. TRUST ME i have bad acne sometimes.
Reply:no you should3 wash your face with hot water that does
Reply:No, it makes it worse.
Reply:You would have to ask your doctor
Reply:Sort of - it's not the sweating itself, so much as that when you get sweaty, you tend to shower or wash your face more often. Sweating is really good for removing toxins from your body, which will also help clear up your skin.
Reply:NOt it can clog your pores. IF you are looking for a way to flush out your body. Drink alot of water and take VItamin A.
Reply:If you sweat in a sauna for example and then wash yourself with cold water what happens is that your pours open and the dirt leaves your skin. The cold water closes the pours again. But I don't think this gets rid of acne. Acne is a bacteria and so washing your skin with soap and also salt water helps. Applying acne cream works best.
Reply:nope it makes it worse
Reply:no it makes worse becoz it comes out with oil in ur skin it makes the worr situation.
Reply:no but it will make it worst......
Reply:sweating rids the pores of impurities, so yes it does, but only if you wash your face right after you sweat. if you leave the impurities on your face it will make acne worse.
Reply:No...............

Does sweating actually burn fat or just make you lose water weight?

Sweating is just a mechanism of the body to cool itself down. You can sweat just sitting in the heat burning no calories or fat. You will lose some weight from water due to sweating, but very negligible
Does sweating actually burn fat or just make you lose water weight?
lose water
Does sweating actually burn fat or just make you lose water weight?
Ive been told by my personal trainer that sweating makes you lose water weight first not fat.
Reply:lose water weight; you have to burn more calories than you consume in order to start "burning" fat...
Reply:It's water weight combined with flushing of toxins.
Reply:you only lose water weight, but if your running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to sweat then your probably burning fat by excercising
Reply:Perspiration is your body's natural air conditioner. You begin to 'sweat' when your body is over heated. It has nothing to do with losing weight.
Reply:You will only lose your water. Just imagine, swimming has no sweat but burn fat faster. You get what I mean?
Reply:Both, it is not recommendable to keep on sweting without drinking a lot of water because you will dehidrate, if you do so you will have heat stroke and you could die because of it.
Reply:it is just water weight. But the fact that you ARE sweating means you are exerting energy which is what you need to lose weight.
Reply:Sweating burns up energy, but the only way that I know of to burn fat is exercise, or medication (I would reccommend the first one if you want to burn fat healthily).
Reply:Hi

You defnitely loose excess water and toxins with sweating ,your queries to burning calories and body metabolic questions can be found with this link so here goes,

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.

Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

How do i get my feet to stop sweating?

i shower, i bath, i get pedicures - they still sweat and they still smell. my shoes are gross, i have to throw them away after a couple of months because they get so smelly. and taking my shoes off at someone else's house is like an anxiety attack waiting to happen. please help!
How do i get my feet to stop sweating?
Useing baby powder could work but because of the scent it can also cause you feet to produce a foul oder, so I would suggest that you use something like Gold Bond or any type of medicated foot powder. You can go to your local store and buy some type of powder. They make all types of foot powder and most is used for sweaty feet. If it is used for a couple different types of foot problems such as Athletes feet, Sweatyness, Itching and etc... you can still use it because it will stop you from getting a fungus on your feet which is Atheletes feet. If your feet still sweat after you trying the over the counter powder I would strongly suggest you go to a DPM (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine- Foot %26amp; Ankle doctor) because you could have a problem with your sweat glands or something else. Thank you for asking this question. I hope I have helped ya! Good Luck!

P.s. I would also wear a different shoe everyday or if you do have that many shoes every other day because wearing the same shoes will cause th fungus to lay in that shoe and everytime you put it on it will cause your feet to smell and the fungus will grow. So rotate shoes every other day if you can. I "strongly" suggest this. See if this helps with the powder and if it doesnt go and see a Podiatrist. :-)
How do i get my feet to stop sweating?
Try wearing thinner socks and perhaps use some baby powder.
Reply:put sponges on your feets sole (^_^)
Reply:ask the pharmacy. they have stuff for that.
Reply:I would recommend using an over the counter medicated foot powder, such as Dr. Scholl's, for instance.
Reply:what about the salts they use on your underarms? salt crystals?

where you wet it and rub it on? I heard it was great for sweaty feet!
Reply:Talk to your Doctor about it. It may be caused by a medical problem that can be treated with medication.
Reply:baby powder
Reply:gold bond 4 feet
Reply:before you put your shoes on put some baby powder on them and before you go to bed put some vaseline on them and some socks
Reply:try putting some deodorent on your feet to stop the sweating, and try some Dr. Scholls foot deodorent.
Reply:The baby powder suggestion made by others is what I do. Another good thing you might try is to wear wool socks. Some of the new wool products are not itchy like the old ones and wool will always keep your feet dry.
Reply:Damn...maybe you wear the wrong kind of shoes, and/or too many pairs of socks?! Calm down, have you talked to your Doc about this? Maybe your anxiety is creating the problem itself. Go to a podiatrist and see if there is a medical reason.
Reply:all you need to do is buy a foot spray and spray your feet every day with the stuff the body shop should do some or any pharmacist

i hope i have helped you
Reply:I get sweaty feet too. Normally, it's the shoes I'm wearing. If my feet can't breathe, I dump my entire volume of body moisture into my shoes. I find that synthetic materials like nylon and wearing shoes with lots of mesh (like running shoes... not sexy, though) helps avoid sweat. Ordinary Converse All-Stars are pretty good.

Choosing the right socks can help, too. Thin, avoid synthetics again.

If you're really desperate, you could try aluminium chloride powder from the chemist (or something else he might recommend). Normally the exceptionally sweaty use this in their armpits, but I'm sure you can dust your feet with it.

On the bright side, at least you don't have my back-sweat problem. :)

EXCESSIVE SWEATING-What are the causes and solutions?

Happens in an air conditioned room, when slight work is done etc.
EXCESSIVE SWEATING-What are the causes and solutions?
You probably would have to take a look at your diet. Coffee is diuretic. Are there any other diuretics you are eating?

A diuretic is any drug that elevates the rate of bodily urine excretion (diuresis). There are several categories of diuretics. All diuretics increase the excretion of water from the body, although each class of diuretic does so in a distinct way.
EXCESSIVE SWEATING-What are the causes and solutions?
are you nervous or stressed out? maybe its something mentsl you got. its all in your head
Reply:If it's so excessive to the point when you bring extra clothes with you to change into, then you need to go to the doctor. Botox, believe it or not, actually cures excessive sweating because it paralyzes the sweat glands.
Reply:You mean under you armss??

Well, if its under you arms their is this night anti-perspirant called certain dry after a few nights of using it at night and using your usual deoderant and anti-perspirant in the morning you barely wonte even sweatt! Its recommended by doctors and stuff ! It works really good and after a few days the excess sweating goes away. =]
Reply:This could be a chemical imbalance that happens and they do have deodorant for people who sweat a lot it's over the counter or by a prescription.
Reply:Caffeine? Overactive adrenal gland? Food allergies?

Many strange afflictions can be solved through changes in your diet. Ask a doctor who deals with nutrition. I recently started a diet that cut all possible food allergies, and I started feeling better instantly.
Reply:When my boyfriend does this, it's because he's coming off a drunk.

Over sweating with no physical activity?

I always oversweat even if i'm not doing any physical activity and i'm not talking about just my face and armpits i'm talking about my whole body soaking espicially back. any way of curing this?
Over sweating with no physical activity?
You need to do a few things:

First where an undershirt, this will keep you looking fresh

Then drink lotsa water, 2-3 gallons of fluid a day

Lastly, start a work out regimen, pushups, situps, calisthenics and distance running. Work till you get to muscle failure, then take a cool shower.

Your body doesn't know what real work is!

It's true that some people sweat more than others but you can condition your body!

You can try putting deodorant on your hands, maybe Dove Powder Fresh so it'll smell like lotion. Or you might have to see your dermatologist and get a prescription antiperspirant.

Armpit sweating! PLEASEE HELP!?

i started using certain dri a couple days ago and it doesnt seem to do much? helps a little but i want it to make my "wet marks" totally go away. Anyone with experience from this product have any advice? does it take a week to work fully? or should i try something else?
Armpit sweating! PLEASEE HELP!?
Are you using Anti-perspirant? Unless you do,you will still sweat.
Armpit sweating! PLEASEE HELP!?
umm....i dont kno...ive never had dat problem
Reply:Yes! I switched from certain dri to dove. it works so much better and doesn't leave thoes wet marks!
Reply:Wear thinner clothing and less layers so you are not too hot. I sweat a lot on my back and get back sweat marks on my shirt. Its worse than pit sweat i think. I try to wear thin t-shirts, and if I want to wear a sweater, I put it on at school or wherever I am going.
Reply:You are suffering from axillary hyperhydrosis. Stick with the Certain Dri for a while longer. If it doesn't do the trick, talk to your Dr. about a beta-blocker (such as propranolol) or an anticholinergic (such as Robinul). They both CURE my hyperhydrosis!
Reply:Use a men's antiperspirant. Old Spice and Right Guard work pretty good.
Reply:this product does not work at all. I have tried it and it is awful. try arm-and-hammer.
Reply:The presence of axillary (armpit) sweat and odor is normal in all people past puberty. Excessive armpit sweating, also known as Axillary hyperhidrosis, represents a variant of normal axillary sweat. Similarly, axillary bromhidrosis (odor) represents a variation or accentuation of normal axillary odor. These can be distressing problems, with unpleasant sweat and smell and sometimes causing an accompanying social handicap for people who suffer from it. Topical deodorants and antiperspirants may only have a limited effect and are not a permanent solution

The ETS procedure is best suited for those suffering from sweaty hands. However, various reports indicate that for people who suffer from combined sweaty hands and sweaty armpits, 40 to 80% will improve through the ETS procedure.

see so there is surgery for it now, also,as soon as you step out of the shower take a cloth and pour alchohol onto it then wipe your pits after that add your deoderent ,now puff on baby powder that should keep you dry.!if not you may have that condition.
Reply:ive used it before and it was helpful but the drysol doesnt work instatly it takes some time
Reply:You could try secret clinical strength its new I am planning on buying it friday I am hoping it works.

Does sweating make your acne worse?

since one of the causes of acne is internal, sweating is actually good for your skin b/c it releases a lot of pollutants inside that would make your skin worse if they stayed inside. however, if the sweat isn't taken care of in a good amount of time it will result in more acne b/c it's like the pollutants are just being reobsorbed into your skin. so sweating is good for you, as long as you wash your face a few times a day, you'll be fine.
Does sweating make your acne worse?
sweating is a good medium for bacteria which make the acne turn to pustules which heal with scar

u should wash ur face many times per day with a medicated soap containing sulfur and salicylic acid Report It

Does sweating make your acne worse?
Yes! Because it's possible that sweat makes acne infected.
Reply:Being a bearer of numerous pimples throughout my life, I would say it can increase the chances for more pimples. When you sweat, your body is releasing all sorts of unwanted grime, dirt, and other things your body needs to get rid of. If that dirt and grime is left on the facial area (or other areas), it creates a perfect enviornment for pimples to produce. If untreated, effects can and will be quite severe. It does also depend on whether or not you are going through puberty, a lot of stress, etc. Things to remember are washing your face often, but not too often because your body naturally produces oil to keep your skin moist. The buildup of this can also cause a bit of acne. Getting into a rythym of washing your face or taking a shower will certainly help.

Excessive sweating?

I tell you to get Certain Dri. You will never sweat from your underarms. Eliminates all odor. Has no smell. Has no residue so it does not stain your clothes at all. It is a roll on you can get at any drug store in the anti-perspirant section. You put it on at night. Go to sleep. Wake up and take a shower. The residue of the anti-perspirant is gone, but you don't sweat or smell at all for a couple of days. And when I say you don't sweat or smell I mean it. I go to the gym and my shirt gets soaked except for under the arms. That is how well it works. I have not sweated under my arms for over ten years since starting to use this product, and nothing else was able to stop the sweat.

When I work out, I sweat alot. How can I stop sweating?

The more fit you get, the longer it takes you to begin sweating.

This is a problem for some people, I know - I'm a red head with pale skin (which flushes easily). I have had people stop their cars while I'm race-walking, and ask if they can take me to the hospital (I get very red in the face very quickly, and sweat sweat SWEAT!!).

The only way I've ever found to overcome the problem (even after asking every single doctor I know) is to get fit. I can now walk almost a kilometer before I start getting flushed and sweaty, and I'm working on getting a lot further!

Botox injections. Controlling chronic sweat problems was what it was originally used for.

How do you get rid of excessive armpit sweating without using botox?
There is a version of Secret on the market called

Secret CLINICAL that contains 20% Aluminum zinc which is a little better than some on the market.

Other than that, see a doctor about perscription applications, but as she is only 11 I'm not sure it would be wise to use something that strong.
How do you get rid of excessive armpit sweating without using botox?
There is a simple surgery availabe for that. No big incisions and it will be permanent, unlike Botox.

Please be sure she has been checked out by a doctor for all possible causes.

I was trying to find a description of the surgery for you, and found such a comprehensive article on Wikipedia that I decided to send you a link to the whole thing.
Reply:I suggest Certain Dri. that stuff is like magic. she will see results in like a week. I'm serious!
Reply:Hello beauttyqueen096,

Your daughter has a fairly common problem called hyperhidrosis, which of course leads to excessive sweating. I suffer from the same sweating problem, like all the time and randomly, which can make it even worse. But don't worry, there's a lot of stuff out there for your daughter's sweating condition.

There are a lot of products made specifically for your daughter's problem, however a lot of them like Drysol and Maxim will sting, irritate or even leave rashes. Due to her being 11, I'd recommend a product that's made to be sensitive to the skin, like MegaDry, http://www.sweating-treatment.com it's made to be non-irritating for those of us who excessively sweat.

Botox is also really painful, temporary and expensive, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone withouth trying out all of the current products for hyperhidrosis.

Anyways, good luck with your daughter's sweating problem, she'll be fine, just tell her not to worry about it (if you stress, you increase the sweating).

Does sweating really helps loose weight?

Effective method to lose weight is right combination of diet and exercise.

Does sweating really helps loose weight?
idk
Does sweating really helps loose weight?
Only temporarily. You are losing fluid which will take off a little weight but as soon as you drink you will put the weight back on.
Reply:no when you drink you put it back on. water i mean.
Reply:well sweating makes you lose water weight so people who need to do a weigh in will try to sweat a ton then weigh in real quick before the water weight comes back. that weight wont stay off, but if you are doing things that make you sweat you will lose weight
Reply:Only in the short term - you would have to sweat a ton to keep the weight off, probably to the point of dehydration...so just put down the fork and walk a lot.
Reply:not really.

but if your sweating and working otu thats a good sign!
Reply:Only for the weigh-in at wrestling. Water is heavy, but is needed by the body. So if you sweat and don't drink for a few hours, you could end up a few pounds lower on the scale, but it isn't real weight loss. You'll be thirsty and you'll put all that water back in.

On the other hand, the activities that make you sweat are usually aerobic, so they will make you lose weight. But sitting in a 110 degree room for hours will have no effect but temporary dehydration.
Reply:Only until you drink liquid !
Reply:No, not really because you just loose water weight instead of fat and as soon as you drink a liquid to hydrate you gain the weight back. Just eat right and exercise and you will do great! : )
Reply:in theory there is less matter in your body so yes
Reply:Try it. You'll like it.

don't forget to mix in a few less calories on the intake side as well.. You know the equation, INTAKE CALORIES %26lt; OUTPUT CALORIES = LESS WEIGHT
Reply:It can't do otherwise I would be about 5 stone! I hate the heat but sadly weigh more than I should.
Reply:No, it just means that your core temperature is higher than normal and your body is trying to cool you down by sweating.
Reply:No. Water. It helps your body cool itself and severe enough causes dehydration and eventual death.
Reply:Sure does fatty
Reply:For a very short period of time, because of the amount of water lost from the body (ie in a sauna). However, when you drink to rehydrate the weight is just added back on!

However, lots of sweating is known to emulsify fat under the skin as well as burning upto 600 calories.

http://www.101insights.com/saunainfo.htm
Reply:No, just water and salt, both of which you will quickly and inevitably need to replace.

Only the combination of modest calorie reduction and regular vigorous exercise stands any real chance of success.

Cold sweating?

Could this be possible because of too much pepper/salt

or drinking too much kool-aid, or not eating a lot the last day?
Cold sweating?
Pepper, no. It could be too much salt... Salt retains water within your body. It could be a ton of other things as well. It could be stress, or you're out of shape, or you have some kind of other problem.

Try not eating a big meal before sleeping. (Are these night sweats? You didn't say that.... but that's what im thinking about.)

Exercise properly and often.

Eat less salt/sugar.

Eat healthily.

That's all I can really think of. If the problem persists, i'd consider seeing a doctor about it.
Cold sweating?
Yes these can all be reasons for ir, salt and pepper make your blood pressure fluctuate erraticaly especially of consumed along with citrics such as limes, lemons or grapefruit. Kool-aid will make it happen if its the only thing your having because of the sugar drop it can cause, and well the not eating is basically that your body goes into overdrive because your lacking nutrients or at least a sense of being full.

Underarm sweating???

Ok this is a little weird but does anyone have any suggestions on how to reduce underarm wetness I've tried everything i could find including all the deoderants they just don't seem to work?? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Underarm sweating???
i was in the same situation and i know, it is a little embarassing.

I went to my doctor, its all to do with different hormones. And what doesn't help is that being anxious about sweating lots will also make you sweat more! it's a viscious circle!

Go to your doctor, they can do an iodine test (they put it on your underarms for about 3 mins) to see how quickly you produce sweat, they can find out what triggers it and find whats going on. You might be normal and just have fluctuating hormones, in which case it will get better, or otherwise the GP can give you something to help it =]

hope this helps
Underarm sweating???
You may want to see a doctor. He/she can subscribe something to help reduce the sweat.

Reply:i use tom's natural deodorant in apricot. not only did it reduce sweating for me, bc i sweat a lot, but it smells awesome and it wont leave your shirts all yellow!
Reply:go to the dr. and get a clinical prescription
Reply:Don't sweat it, i had the same problem, it was completely embarassing. However i did discover certain dri, you can buy it at any drug store for like six bucks. You apply it before you go to bed every other night. Its great it really helped me out a lot i hardly sweat in my armpits anymore, and as time goes on you use it less and less. Anyway good luck!!
Reply:hey ,

have you heard about that site called stop sweating and start living , they offer a book that carries the same title, i bought that book some time ago and my sweating problems have gone for good, here is the link to it http://stop-sweating.co.nr , hope it helps.
Reply:this has happened to me. it got worst 3yrs ago after i got stung by a bee. the doctor said also, that it's becuz of the foods that you eat, as well, as more ''body fat'' than most people, so just keep you some deodarant with you at all times
Reply:Deoderants is not going to work, simply because they mainly "de-odor-ize" your smelly armpits.

Antiperspirants, medication, surgery, even underarm shields can help.
Reply:Bo-Tox injected into your underarms will stop the sweat for 6 months at a time. It's what celebrities do. It is probably expensive though. I also wonder where does that sweat go ?!?

Will sweating block your pores?

No, it shouldn't. Oil and dirt tend to block pores. Sweat should be washed/rinsed off afterward though as it can attract dirt which can block pores.

some health advocates say you can improve your odor by performing a colon cleanse, detoxifying your body, taking chlorophyll and/or parsley supplements or just eat parsley or wheat grass.

Is sweating the main source to loose weight?

If you sweat, that means your burning calories. If you burn calories, you lose weight.
Is sweating the main source to loose weight?
This is a common misconception. Perspiration is your body's natural air conditioner. It just means you are hot and you sweat to cool off. You can sit still and sweat. In order to lose weight you must exercise and your heartrate must raise sufficiently to burn calories. Chances are you will sweat if you work hard enough.
Is sweating the main source to loose weight?
1 CUP=1/2 POUND
Reply:No because all that will be is 'water weight' which you'll get right back after you drink fluids.
Reply:No, sweating is only temporary water loss.

Frequent aerobic exercise combined with reduction in caloric intake of food is the main source to lose weight.
Reply:no
Reply:i think it helps...cuz you're being energized and moving, so yea you're gonna lose weight
Reply:Until you drink a glass of water, and then it all comes back. The obvious answer is to stop drinking. (I'm kidding. Sweating does not help you lose wait, at all. If it was a good exercise session that made you sweat, THAT will help.)
Reply:No expert but Yes and NO

Yes, if it comes from work out.

No, If you sit in a hot room.(maybe).

Somehow your body has to burn the fat. So don't go sit on a stove and wish to loose weight :)
Reply:No it isn't. When you exercise after 20 minutes, your body burns fat, and this is when you lose weight. Sweating is your body's way of trying to cool off, you can be dressed too warm and be sweating, not burning fat. You want to be dressed appropriately so your body will work at burning the fat, and not trying so hard to cool itself.
Reply:Alright, well sweating is not the main source of losing weight. You need to have a good diet, with a certain number of calories for your body and you personal goals. You need to incorporate a good weight training routine into your life also. If you put all three of those components together, you will be very successful. By building muscle with the weight training it will burn fat. It will even burn fat when you are just sitting on the couch doing absolutely nothing, and it will help your metabolism which is how you can lose weight. Don't be afraid to go with heavy weights, as I was told. If you're female it is impossible to get "big" and if you're male, well I don't think guys are against being "big and bulky". It does take hard work and perserverance but you can get there with the right keys! Good luck!

Also the website listed below has tons of great exercises and workouts, diet examples, ect. that may help you also. I get a lot of my information from there.
Reply:Yes, must sweat, then need to have diet control..

Reply:My face sweats too when I do any sort of exercise, or even lie in the sun. It's usually from my forehead, though.

It sounds like you sweat from your cheeks as well, if people think you're crying. When does this happen to you? When you exercise or when you get embarrassed?

If it really bothers you, why not see the practice nurse at you local surgery for some advice.

Anyway, don't worry. It can't be a great problem here in rainy Britain. No sweat!
Reply:Excessive sweating - nothing I've tried to do has ever really fixed this problem but at least if that sweating is coming also from other areas, there is something you can put on your underarms and thighs, etc. from the doctor. But, the face, that's too dangerous for the face. This thing works by closing the pours so the fluids are there just not being released. Kidneys are in charge of fluids and lungs are involved, you may be drinking too much, you may be taking in too many chemicals from chemically processed "foods" and this is your body's way of getting rid of excess but we should be doing that by way of urine, not by sweating. I overheat and sweat easily so I know how embarrassing it can be and difficult almost impossible to do anything about it.

Switch to Evian type of water drinking - most other waters fail tests despite what we're told on lables.....start flushing your body as much as you can with better water and high antioxidant foods that haven't been processed or chemically treated, usually only found in organics. Add organic yogurt to your daily dietary habits and this will help the body fight whatever causes any imbalances. Talk to as many doctors as possible in different fields, doctor nutritionists, etc.. Also, take a look at sea salts that are from overseas and made somewhere else.....regular table salt that's been chemically processed can be making this happen based on a lot of things so make that switch, we need about two tablespoons daily of the right things to make corrections, see how that works for you. It does a lot for me and for a lot of people, just something simple like that. Two tablespoons daily of the right vegetable oils give us the right vitamins, and get the not acidic ones like sesame seed oil, etc. Look into all that and see what works. All the best.
Reply:Ask your doctor about Botox, if it is for a medical condition and not cosmetic you should get it free on the NHS and the good side effect is that it will keep you wrinkle free too.

I have had botox loads of times for cosmetic purposes and I don't sweat at all on my face now and I live in Dubai where the weather is constantly hot especially now!

Good Luck X
Reply:My dear the reason why you have a good skin is that your skin pours are open and they do not have any blokage and that reduces skin problems like acne. So the best solution for you is to carry a handkerchief and keep wiping your face. If you try blocking your skin from sweating then prepare for acne and other forms of pimples and I do trust you do not want that, in the meantime try washing your face often and wearing a 'hut' when you are going out.

Good luck!

Im sweating but temp is 96.8 ?
When was the first day of your lmp? You may be getting ready to ovulate . My temp dropped to 96. 66 and the next day it had went up dramatically! That's how I knew that I was ovulating.

How do I stop my toilet tank from sweating??

it sweats in winter and summer (just started this dec) and it's making a mess all over my floor
How do I stop my toilet tank from sweating??
have an insulated tank installed or get a tank insulating kit. You can use a mixing valve but it is something you probably can't install yourself.
How do I stop my toilet tank from sweating??
Might be caused by too much difference between the temp of water and its surrounding. Try bringing in some heat around the toilet area in winter and don't crank up the AC too high in summer.
Reply:Stop making it run. ha,ha,ha Just kidding,sorry I couldn't resist.
Reply:You can't. It sweats for the same reason as does a glass of cold water, and you can't stop that, either.
Reply:they make kits that will warm the water that flows to the tank, to temper the cold water. i have seen them on this old house, the plumber installed one on a show. check their web site, i don't recall the name of it, but that is where i saw it. good luck, hope this helps.
Reply:either heat the tank

or line the floor with something

or insulate the inside of the tank
Reply:A Styrofoam insulated tank should work well for you in warm and cold temps. I have two in my home and neither one sweats.
Reply:it sweats due to the temp difference. you either need to get the water closer to the room temp or the room temp closer to water temp
Reply:You don't need a plumber or even any tools to install an insulation kit in your tank, and it's cheap. The obvious answer is humidity and not temperature. If you could remove the humidity from the bathroom, the result would be the same as heating the toilet water, and make a lot more sense. If you don't have an exhaust fan to run after running hot water for an extended time, think about installing one. If you do have one check to make sure that the vent to the exterior is clear. A birds nest or a crimped tubing could be trapping the humidity inside the room.

Does anyone know if green tea causes night sweating?
It could be from that. Night sweats can happen when your blood sugar drops, and caffeine can raise it and drop it suddenly again. You might want to try not drinking it at night.

I have this happen a lot so I know how frustrating it is. Here is something you can read on the subject. Might want to check with your doc also:

Are you drinking hot tea right before you go to bed? I'm sure that won't help.

Huge Sweating Problem!!! Nothing works!!! HELP ME!!!?

Okay, I've bought anti-perspiration deodorants that are proven to work but no luck whatsoever, and I can't do Botox because my mom won't let me. It's hard for me to wear clothes that are body tight so I wear sweaters ALL the time and I mean, every day. I'm just scared if I hug someone or raise my hand...my pits will be wet. And I know it will. I'm scared of being made fun of too. Nothing works. Is it puberty?? If so...how long will it last?? I'm so ready for it to stop. I'm only 12. Any advice? Be polite. Thank you.
Huge Sweating Problem!!! Nothing works!!! HELP ME!!!?
I know exactly how you feel, and how you have to be very careful what colors you wear and wear hoodies and stuff. atleast- thats how i was. but, I bought this stuff called Certain Dri, that can be found at any drug store or grocery store. and its not that expensive. you put it on at night (it can sting and itch) but it works WONDERS!
Huge Sweating Problem!!! Nothing works!!! HELP ME!!!?
It's probably just puberty. don't stres over it, you'll learn how to deal with it and make it better. if you are urgent though, there is an anti-perspirent called Drysol I believe. You can buy it at shoppers and places like that- very effective too.
Reply:Sweet heart you have nothing to worry about! It will go away after a while-my little sis had the same thing! But if it bothers you that much use certain dri, swear it works! ; )
Reply:My daughter has the same problem. She got a prescription from the dr. Might be that drysol, but if it is that you need a prescription. You have to put it on the night before. She loves it, it works.

She first tried it during college, and still uses it at 27.
Reply:i had that same exact problem. I went to the doctor and she gave me a perscription. i also use Secret Clinical Strength deodorant. It has a high amount of aluminum zirconium (the stuff that stops sweat) and it's working really well.

hope that helps [:
Reply:Talk to your doctor, you may need perscription strength ant perspirant.
Reply:There's an over the counter dietary supplement called Garlique that will curb problem perspiration. You might try this but since you are just going into puberty the strong anti-perspirants may be just as helpful because some of the other answerers suggested you will grow out of it.

Is there any product out there that greatly cuts down on sweating?

i sweat perfusely from my arm pits. I've tried all the different kinds of deoderant/anti-perspirant combo sticks and nothing seems to work. Even when im not really that hot, i sweat.

Has anyone tried anything thats worked?

Is there any product out there that greatly cuts down on sweating?
Hey, I know exactly what you're talking about! it's called hyperhidrosis and i have it too! There's no cure for it, but there is a treatment, and it's called Maxim. You can get it at www.coradhealthcare.com it might seem really expensive at first but think about it this way- it's only $20 to get all your self-confidence back! The website says that a bottle lasts 2-3 months but my first bottle lasted about 9 months. i have been sweat puddle free for about 1 1/2 years!

good-luck, hope i helped!
Is there any product out there that greatly cuts down on sweating?
a hat
Reply:Put towels in your armpits.
Reply:Simply stop using deodorants and anti-perspirants and let the problem heal itself. The another thing is you may be constantly dehydrated so that contributes greatly to sweating. Believe it or not, dehydration can cause you to sweat much more than if you drank water and kept your water levels normal then you would not sweat that so much. It is really simple advice that so many guys just don't get it and I got it. I hope you do get it too.
Reply:Hi J, I don't think there is anything that will cut down sweating. Why not just stop putting deodorant on and let things take there course. A Friend.

Clowmy
Reply:Yes sir there is an answer. I had the exact same problem, it is just that your sweat glands are on over time, the products at the store do not work for us. I went on line and found a product called Maxim (I think that is the spelling) just do a search using that name for an antiperspirant. You apply it just like a roll on, and then go to bed and let it dry over night. In the morning you can do your normal routine, such as shower and apply an deodorant. " it is very strong and can cause skin irritation but after the first few applications, it will dry you up. I was amazed at how good it works. it can be shipped right to your door and is very cheap.
Reply:go to the doctors, they have perscription meds that help.

What can I use to lessen full body sweating?

I have tried wearing all cotton, cold showers, and dropping all spicey food from my diet but I still sweat all day, all over my body! Is there another solution? I don't trust antiperspirants or deodorants as they have never worked for me.
What can I use to lessen full body sweating?
well there is a new antiperpirant out (medically made) but you can get in stores and it stops the sweat. Also you can have your sweat glands basically shut off) I saw it on tv, a girl had it done %26amp; it worked. That's a last resort but it helped her %26amp; she sweat all over. Good Luck
What can I use to lessen full body sweating?
Sounds like you are at the point where you need the help of a skin doctor (dermatologist). I have never heard of this condition, but that's what I would do.

Excessive sweating, causes and how to prevent it?

any help highly appreciated
Excessive sweating, causes and how to prevent it?
There is a fairly cheap prescription for that called Aluminum Chloride,it comes in a bottle with a roller on top, a lot of people in sports like wrestling get it so they don't sweat. You're doctor may just give you a script for it, it's not something he/she needs to see you for and it's not going to harm you in any way.
Excessive sweating, causes and how to prevent it?
Control of Excessive Sweating Center specializes in axillary hyperhydrosis and excessive perspiration treatment for sweaty underarm, hands and feet at an affordable price with board certified surgeons. ... excessive, this condition is known as excessive sweating or Hyperhidrosis

Why am I out of nowhere hot and sweating?

I have had a hysterectomy and I have heart disease. I am 68 years old and can be just fine one minute and my head drenched with sweat the next. My hair is so wet it looks like I have just taken a shower.
Why am I out of nowhere hot and sweating?
My guess is hormones - try taking DHEA to see if it helps (DHEA is the hormone that your body makes all other hormones from, especially testosterone). It helps me.

Does sweating stop hair from growing?

I am African American
Does sweating stop hair from growing?
no sweating doesnt stop hair from growing ,but sweat may help the sebum in building more rapidly in ur scalp which will further stop ur hair from growing
Does sweating stop hair from growing?
i dont think so
Reply:no
Reply:UMM No!! I have never heard this!
Reply:Sweating doesnt, but if you dont clean your scalp regularly then the waxy build up can clog your follicles and prevent the hair from growing.
Reply:No, the only thing hair can do is make your sweat more or just keep you warm!

Is sweating and hair loss related?

No. Sweat glands are attached to the hair follicle. So it does touch the hair, but there is nothing in sweat that is harmful to the hair. Hair loss is hereditary and it usually is a slow process. So if you're losing hair rapidly then you might want to see someone about it.
Is sweating and hair loss related?
There IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING "Better" than REAL, REAL, REAL (Important) SWEATY Hair ! ! ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reply:Definetly, women have a water weight gain, excersising helps this out, sweating takes the impurities out of your system. If you are a drinker sweating is excellent please shower though but do excersize.
Reply:YES IT KEEPS YOU COOL WHEN YOU NEED IT ALSO KEEPS THE PORES OF THE SKIN CLEAN
Reply:If we didn't sweat when we were physically active we would overheat and die. It's our body's way of regulating our internal temperature.

If you sweat too much it's called 'hyperhydrosis' and there are several treatment options from using an antipersperant that contains a higher level of aluminum to surgery to treat your sweat glands.

Can you loose weight by tanning everyday and sweating while doing it.....bc i think i have!?

I tan everyday and i tend to sweat sometimes......i eat like a hog.....and i think im loosing weight...i dont work out....i just go to school and work....i guess i have a high metabalism!
Can you loose weight by tanning everyday and sweating while doing it.....bc i think i have!?
Tanning everyday is NOT going to lead to losing weight. Maybe eventually when you're undergoing chemo for skin cancer it'll cause weight loss then, but not now.
Can you loose weight by tanning everyday and sweating while doing it.....bc i think i have!?
Tanning doesn't make you lose weight. However, it's natural for our bodies to want less food when it is hot. Even though you may still be stuffing your face, you may be eating less than your body is used to b/c of the heat your body to which your body is being exposed, which would result in you losing weight. Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water, b/c if you are not then the weight loss could all be your body dehydrating. Otherwise, who cares, enjoy it.....this is just my theory. Oh, and most young people have a high metabolism--wait until you hit 30 and all that goes south haha. A tanning bed won't help you then! (I'm 24--I'm still waiting for it.)
Reply:tanning doesnt make you loose weight but i did hear that you can catch cancer from it you betta look into

Does sweating get rid of excess hormones?

I read online that exercising is good to rid the body of excess hormones such as estrogen, which is why it helps relieve PMS symptoms and menstrual problems. Is this true? Do excess hormones actually come out of your pores? I almost feel silly asking but I am interested to know if it's really the truth.
Does sweating get rid of excess hormones?
No, it does not. What it may do is increase blood flow, moving hormones around the body, so that they react evenly and get processed sooner.

It also creates different hormones in response to the exercise, which counter the negative aspects of PMS.
Does sweating get rid of excess hormones?
no but crying does
Reply:ive never herd of such a thing
Reply:This is not true.

Excess hormones stay in your body. They do not come out of your pores.
Reply:ermmmmm........interesting....but i have no idea!
Reply:no it doesn't but it gets rid of waste/unwanted substances.
Reply:honesly, .....yup sory.
Reply:That's not true. Hormones adjust when you sweat, so you will lose more water %26amp; less salt.
Reply:No it does not but here is some treatment lines:

The psychiatric literature since the 1930’s has portrayed women as the weaker sex and in need of medical treatment for their “hysterical” and “hysteronic” complaints [pertaining to the uterus]. With the availability of psychotropic drugs, 1)the tricyclics (Elavil, Triavil, Sinequan), 2) the tranquilizers (Valium, Ativan, and Xanax), and 3) the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, there have been many documented studies showing the benefit to the patient in taking this medication for severe P.M.S.

The problem with the treatment approach when used for more than a few cycles, is that it fails to address the underlying hormonal problems. So the result is the woman taking these medications may become sleepy, forgetful or not communicative. For this and other reasons, our primary approach has been hormonal.

Medical Treatments of PMS

Since 1953, hormonal therapies have been the mainstay of the treatment of premenstrual distress and premenstrual syndrome. Kathrina Dalton, M.D., a family practitioner in England, evaluated the effectiveness of a program of aqueous progesteone suppositories on her own symptoms. When they were relieved, she repeated the study with 50 patients under the care of a leading gynecologic endocrinologist. They also experienced improvement.

These aqueous progesterone suppositories have been found effective. They are safe during pregnancy, as the placenta produces many more times progesterone than the pregnancy. They are safe in men too! In the 1940’s, progesterone was injected into men-- no side effects except they fell asleep! And since we use a slightly smaller dose to help women conceive, progesterone can be continued until well in the menopause.

Since 1979, Day and others have reported on the use of low dose danazol to control the worst PMS. Danazol is taken all month long and prevents the rise and fall of estrogen levels. In more than 10 medical articles, the success fate for controlling PMS in more than 80 percent.

Although danazol has the side effects in some of acne and fluid retention, most are easily treated. Rarely has there been liver or bone changes with these dosages of medication. Some patients are so well controlled on hormonal therapy that they are able to discontinue the medications prescribed by the psychiatrist.

SSC Yen in 1985 showed that luprolide acetate, a long-acting agent for endometriosis, can rapidly eliminate the worse PMS symtpoms. Although luprolide is not usually used for these symptoms, it does confirm what these women have known for years--THE PAIN AND MOOD SWINGS ARE REAL!

So women need not feel that they are going crazy for these two weeks every month. They are experiencing an exaggeration of normal function. The physician can help the patient by first explaining the process, secondly using an anti-estrogenic hormonal medication to lower and stability the estrogen level, and lastly, using psychotropic medications for short periods of time.

uh yea its good 4 u it means ur gettng rid of wasted sodium in ur body, if u didnt sweat u would bloat up.
Is sweating good for you?
Sweating is actually very good for you. It cools your body off and clears bacteria out of the skin. This releases toxins and chemicals that could actually kill you were you not able to sweat.

What is this Problem I Have with Armpit Sweating?

I sweat a lot underneath my arms even when I'm not physically sweaty. I've had a lot of people tell me it's anxiety but I'm perfectly fine even when it occurs. It mostly happens when I'm at school or work and rarely happens at home. I'm just sick of ruining my white shirts and forever stinking up my other ones. From as far back as I can remember I've had this problem. I've also tried using numerous different types of deodorant and nothing has completely helped the wetness.
What is this Problem I Have with Armpit Sweating?
u might want to go to the doctor and they can give you a perscription deodorant. i once had same problem, the doctor will help

Reply:I also experienced like that before and i know how you felt, it's disgusting until i found out the product which solved it over a year ago and i'm still using it now. I don't know if it will work for you. But I also have a friend who complains the same problem we have and I advised her to use the product and it worked to her. The product is "SECRET" PLATINUM PROTECTION stick deodorant. It's very affordable and is sold in groceries here in the Philippines.

I'm having a problem sweating,I've increased my water in take can exercise for an hour and still do not sweat.

I'm tring to lose weight.
I'm having a problem sweating,I've increased my water in take can exercise for an hour and still do not sweat.
You are not having a problem sweating. Your body will sweat when it needs to, and if you are not sweating, then your body is cooling itself just fine without needing sweat. You are drinking water, so you are keeping hydrated, and that is good to. Sweating does not help you lose weight. You will burn calories whether you sweat or not, as long as you are exercising at your maximum level and watching your calorie intake, you will lose weight.

Wow! Have you tried sitting in a sauna?
Reply:that's OK if your really out of shape it may take awhile

for your body to adjust. or some people just don't sweat much that does not mean your not burning calories. Keep it up
Reply:Wow, just count yourself lucky! I sweat just walking into work! I heard that the fitter you are the more you sweat. You should do loads of exercise and you may find yourself sweating a bit more. All the best x x x

Excessive sweating a sign of pregnancy?

Is excessive perspiration a sign of pregnancy? I took a test a week ago and it came up negative. Also went to my obgyn and a week ago and they said not pregnant. I have been off birth control pills for a month. Could being off the pills be the cause? Should I take another test?

Does sweating affect losing body fat? How?

High intensity activity with short breaks makes you sweat and burns the most calories because your muscle is at highest efficiency. But during this heavy activity to lose fat we must be aware that were not losing our energy to do more tasks in our daily life, we must take some help with Xenadrine EFX that is super-supplement and also increases energy.
Does sweating affect losing body fat? How?
Sweating has nothing to do with body fat. Products which make you sweat do not do anything to remove fat. You lose water weight from the sweat, nothing else.

How do i control excessive sweating? i always carry water to stay hydrated, im always dripping with sweat?

I have the same problem. Everyone says the same thing, take drisol and certain dri and deoderants..........but here recently i have discovered if you take about 2 prenatal vitamins a day, you wont sweat at all. Its the vitamin zinc!!!!!!

How can i reduce tremendous sweating? i sweat even in winter.nothing works.?

i hAVE tried expensive, cheap antiperspirants and none of them works, is there any alternative medicine tipp that could help me?
How can i reduce tremendous sweating? i sweat even in winter.nothing works.?
How can i reduce tremendous sweating? i sweat even in winter.nothing works.?
This may be a medical condition..Iwould consult a doctor..nothing to lose..good luck
Reply:Take ginseng !
Reply:If you are overweight lose weight. If you drink alcohol regularly, cut down on that too - and spicy food. If none of these things are a factor, you should check with your doctor to ensure there is nothing wrong with you. I started sweating heavily all year round three years ago (I wore a flimsy jacket in winter and even though I was cold, the sweat was STILL pouring off me!). It turned out my thyroid was malfunctioning. I am having treatment for it now and, although things are better, on humid days I still sweat buckets - but then, so does everyone else!

There are more radical anti-perspirants that your doctor can prescribe for excessive sweating. If these don't work, you may need minor surgery to cut some of the nerves in your armpits. This will help you to sweat less under your arms but be aware - that sweat needs to go someplace and the sweat may well end up emerging elsewhere...
Reply:Botox injections supposedly help.

Does sweating alot while working out make you lose weight faster?

Not only is dehydrating dangerous, but losing water will actually hurt your weight loss efforts in the long term. You will retain fat, in part because you need water to break it down.

Take a break to drink water while working out. If you working out over several hours, add an electrolyte to your water as well.

At the end of a workout you should weigh pretty much what you did when you started. Also, not to be too gross, but your urine should be relatively clear and not have an ammonia odor.
Does sweating alot while working out make you lose weight faster?
Yes, because you are losing water weight. You might not be lossing more fat per say.
Does sweating alot while working out make you lose weight faster?
your not losing fat that way, just water. Be careful or you'll dehydrate yourself. Make sure your driking lots of water while working out.
Reply:What the first two guys said about water weight is true. I know a wrestler who wears tons of clothes like sweatshirt%26amp;pants etc. while exercising to lose weight faster to say in his weight class. (so he sweats a lot because he is hot with the clothes on)
