What causes profuse sweating at night when sleeping?

Are you suffering from a lot of anxiety? This may seem obvious, but is your room cool enough? I have to sleep in an almost frozen room to be able to snuggle up and sleep. I've suffered from 'night sweats' from time to time, and still not sure what caused it, maybe my body fighting a virus of some kind. Good luck.

Menopause, but I don't think that's your problem.

Reply:well if your female ,it could be hotflashes, menopause

hard telling but how do you know your profuseing sweating if your asleep anyway?
Reply:you probably have too many blankets, your house is yoo hot, or you are going through menopause. Otherwise you are having nightmares then forgetting. My advise for anything accept menopause: open a window, use less blankets, or read/watch tv while falling asleep. It calms the mind. For a tv, press the SLEEP button on your remote control a few times so it will turn off after you fall asleep.
Reply:I believe it has to do with anxiety.I noticed that when i'm stressing on something i sweat at night and its always mostly on the back of my knees and neck, does this sound familiar?
Reply:So Many reasons"

Metapause

Metabolism has changed due to hormonal changes

HIV

and that is just a few of the reasons.
Reply:night sweat could be a symptom of nurological problem...get it check out....
Reply:If you snore as well you could have sleep apnea. With sleep apnea you temporarily stop breathing (a few seconds) but your body reacts with a fight or flight reaction and produces adrenaline, extra adrenaline = sweating. Make an appointment with you regular doctor and see what they think.
Reply:are you a diabetic, always thirsty, urinate a lot ,check with your dr. or check local hospitalfor screening clinic
