i sweat horribly...all the time. my feet, hands, armpits. it is so annoying. I hate holding my boyfriend's hand because it is embarrassing. it doesn't bother him but it does me! So i was wondering about things people use. Stuff you buy from the store, stuff from a doctor, or even the injections that they do for it! any info you can give would be great!
Sweating problem!!?
Over the counter stuff. You can buy Certain Dri or Secret Clinical Strength other than that you will have to go to the doctor.
Sweating problem!!?
medication
Reply:Uh..This is the first time I've heard about this
Reply:certain dry, drysol- mainly for the armpits...it works! you can't get rid of sweating all together bc your body needs to do it! this might be the farthest youll get!
Reply:go see a doctor. my sister did and it worked for her.the doctor will block some sweat glands using an easy and painless procedure,
Reply:Yup - see a doctor. You might have over active glands from an imbalanced hormone level.
My boyfriend was a real bad head sweater - till he saw the doctor and took tablets.
Reply:this is funny but its really effective..your first urine in the morning keep it and wash your hands and feet with it. im not kidding.
Reply:i know a girl with this problem. she uses certain-dry for under her arms. i guess it works good. i know that the doc can prescribe something for the rest of it. good luck in finding something!
Reply:well it depends if you have had this problem from young, but then it means you have a problem with your sweat glands and the only solution I know is this operation..........they put clamps on some sweat glands and make it more controlled
Reply:well i dont have a suggestion for the feet and hands, but you might want to try certain-dri on your under arms. the stuff works great, and it basically shuts off all sweat from your armpits. you use it at night, and then shower like regular in the morning. . give it a try! it worked great for me....you can get it at any rite aid, or CVS or drug store pharmacy, no prescription required.
Reply:you should probably go to a Dr. who has experience with treating problems like this instead of trying things on your own that may not work. until then stay cool, wear light clothing and try to avoid allot of physical activities that can make it worst.
Reply:There are many things you can try.
-Certain Dry anti-perspirant works like a medicated deodorant
-Putting baby powder on your armpits absorbs sweat like tissues
-All of the above at once
Reply:Firstly make sure that you are drinking a lot of water to
avoid dehydration. Personally I have a similar problem but it is not this severe.
Visit to a doctor would be helpful to see if there is no clinical abnormality. Avoid using off the shelf medication.
Reply:i sweat too especially my palms..but its usually nervousness...when u sweat....think what brings it on.....i'm sure u don't drip 24/7....if u cannot find the reason..see a doctor ..maybe ur sweat glands r overactive and mebbe can be snipped.
Reply:Well Pardon the the pun, but don't sweat it. There is one thing you should look up and that is the Thyroid gland. Oversweating can happen when the thyroid is not functioning properly and has an imbalance. Check into that. Ask a a doctor or a naturopath doctor.
Reply:i too have sweating problems and it is extreamly embarassing to never be able to lift up your arms because of sweat marks that might be there. i STRONGLY suggest secret clinical strength, i bought that and it works amazingly well.
as for your hands and feet, i would definently go see a doctor, my friend has a sweating problem that includes all of the things you listed and her doctor put her on meds for it, i am not sure what meds they were but it all comes down to you individually.
try lotions or moisturizers for your hands throughout the day to see if that helps the sweating.
ill get back to you on what medicine my friend uses next time i talk to her ill ask.
goodluck though.
** This problem is called Hyperhidrosis and it basically jsut means excessive sweating. Solutions are
*Botulinum toxin injections
*Propantheline medications
*Surgery... For armpit sweating - an option is to remove the sweat glands in the armpit.
For palm sweating - an option is to have an operation to cut some of the nerves that run down the side of the spinal cord.
Reply:Recommend you wash you're hands constantly when going to the restroom and before eating and after doing any work. OOH, with cold water. Yeah almost forgot! use Mitchum deodorant for ladies its really good.
Reply:my friend has that same problem. its called HYPERHIDROSIS.
take a look at this site or just type in Hyperhidrosis in yahoo or something.

oh and i use this one stuff its called maximum strength and its this roll on medicated deoderent. you put it on at night and it shrinks your sweat glands. it really works (for your pits) but not for like hands and feet.
hope i helped.
Reply:I believe this problem is called Hyperhidrosis. (I could be wrong) but I have a friend with the same problem. I do know that secret just came out with a prescription strength deoderant, so you may want to check into that. You can buy it without a prescription at Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens...stores like that. You may also want to google hyperhidrosis and see what you can find.
Reply:I know how you feel, I've delt with this problem all of my life. It's much more embarrassing when going through this as a women as it not as common. I'm tired of dealing with it too since it's effecting my social life so I've been doing some research. There are methods for helping sweating problems. There is the botox method of injections in the effected areas which stops them from sweating for months. This is however, too expensive for me. I sweat mainly in my face and upper torso so I'm going the medication route. Here are some oral medications you can ask your doctor to prescribe for you that prevent excessive sweating and they're in the family called "anticholingeric drugs": Robinul, Phenoxybenzamine, Propantheline and Ditropan. Hope this helps you, I'm optomistic it's going to help me!
Reply:one word........deoderant
