I really like to express myself and who I am as a person. But its hard to do that when I have to wear the same kinds of dark clothing or jackets...why? Because I sweat alot during the day sometimes I have to wear a jacket over what Im wearing because I sweat through it and its embarassing. What are some things I can do to "cure" this problem?
Excessive Sweating?
i use secret clinical strength deoderent it helps a lot.
Excessive Sweating?
I used to have the same problem. I'd have to layer jackets and shirts to hide the big sweat stains under my arms. I finally found this deodorant called Certain Dri. It's more expensive, and it's prescription strength antiperspirant. It comes in a clear roll on. It's very strong, odor free and works for 12 hours at a time. I've been totally dry since using it, and no other antiperspirant has ever done that!!
Only problem is that it's so strong it has had a strange bleaching effect on a few of my black shirts (on the inside). But it's not noticeable from the outside.
Reply:You may have hyperhydrosis.
Hyperhidrosis At A Glance
Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, is a common disorder.
Axillary hyperhidrosis is excess sweating of the underarms.
Palmoplantar hyperhidrosis is excess sweating of the palms and soles.
Hyperhidrosis usually occurs in people who are otherwise healthy.
The approach to treating hyperhidrosis generally proceeds from OTC antiperspirants to prescription antiperspirants, iontophoresis, oral anticholinergic medications, Botox, and surgery.
I also suffer from this and have had excessive sweating on my entire body since I can remember. This effects many people all over the world. I understand that it very hard in your everyday life. There are many treatment options available. One of which is Botox-this is injected in areas like your armpits, hands, feet and face however, in can be risky on the face(doctor may not recommend it) You can get adhesive Glycopyrrolate pads for the face. I have had this done along with many other treatments, which include:Drysol(deodrant) Glycopyrrolate(oral medication) this worked the best, but many side affects. I suggest you go see a dermatolagist as there are many other options depending on how severe this is for you. Botox is covered if you have medical documentation backing it up(usually at 70%) depending on your coverage. I could go on forever on this topic and could really educate you, however this will take some time and lots of typing. Check out http://www.hyperhidrosis-usa.com/hyperhi... If you need anymore information on this just research it on the web-you will find loads of information, including surgery that can help aswell, but a chance of lots of complications. I myself would not go for the surgery as it seems there are many possible side effects that are not reversable once the operation is completed. The name of the surgery is cervical sympathectomy, as a last resort. A break down for you:
Over-the-counter antiperspirants -- usually tried first because they are readily available. Antiperspirants containing aluminum chloride (for example, Certain-Dri) may be more effective when other antiperspirants have failed
Prescription strength antiperspirants -- those containing aluminum chloride hexahydrate
Iontophoresis -- a device which passes direct electricity through the skin using tap water
Oral medications -- ones called anticholinergics which reduce sweating
Botox (botulinum toxin) -- recently approved in the U.S. by the FDA for treating excessive axillary (underarm) sweating
Surgery -- cervical sympathectomy, as a last resort
