Does sweating a lot have to do with drinking too much water?

It's a stupid question, but I need to know! Someone once told me that if you drink a lot of water, (perhaps too much water like I do) then you tend to sweat a lot. I drink a lot of water and I sweat a lot, even when I'm not doing an intense physical activity. Do those two connect with one another in this way? Again, I said it was a stupid question.

It's not a stupid question at all. No, drinking lots of water doesn't cause you to sweat. Having over active sweat glands. Some people just sweat more than others. Here is some good information and a link within the link that can be helpful. And remember, the stupid question is the one you don't ask. How would we ever learn anything if we didn't ask after all.

No its not true. i drink A LOT of water even more than the average and i barely sweat...
Reply:Sweating alot is good. Keeps your body cool and water is VERY good for you.

Once your body adjusts to recieveing alot of water, it will keep getting rid of it because it thinks there will always be a constant supply.

If you drink less your body will retain water and you may gain a small ammount of weight. Its up to you.

I think you will be fine as you are.
Reply:If you sweat alot you have a lot of sweat glands. If you do not drink enough water you'll get dehydrated. Does water pour out of you? Come on!! Maybe you should address what bothers you about sweating and deal with it from that angle. Example if your shirts get wet from sweating to much. Talk to your doctor. They have good advice.

No question is stupid.
Reply:Technically, it does. The more water you drink, the more water your body has to give off in forms of sweat and urine. Actually, that's not bad at all. Sweating a lot means more toxins are washed away from your body because you drink a lot of water (you should be proud of that because that's what's helping you in keeping your body healthy ;-) ). Drinking much water has so many benefits. It can actually improve your skin complexion, prevent daytime fatigue, helps in the muscle formation when working out, and many more. But of course, don't drink too much for it also has some disadvantages. One of these is that the water solube-vitamins, like Vit. C, thiamin (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), cyanocobalamin (B12), that your body needs will be washed away. Another is diarrhea....Just drink approximately 8 -10 glasses a day and you'll be fine. ^^
Reply:Sweating is the bodys natural method for cooling when the weather or room is too warm. It is necessary to drink plenty of water during hot weather to replace the lost fluid and prevent dehydration. Also need to take frequent breaks in a cool environment to prevent heat exhaustion and heat stroke when outdoors during hot, humid weather.
