Does increased sweating indicate a better workout?

everyday, i jog for about an hour outside, but since the weather is getting colder, i dont sweat as much (although i run with the same speed and for the same amount of time) does the fact that i dont sweat as much mean i dont get as good of a workout?
Does increased sweating indicate a better workout?
No. Heat generated from the burning of calories makes you sweat so most of the time more sweat equals a higher body temp equals more calories having been burned. However, in cold environments the burning of calories will work to keep the body temp normal. In fact, your body will burn substantially more calories in the cold (depending on temp) than in the heat, despite the amount of sweat.

Could mean the humidity is different.
Reply:i do not know if this is good but this boy wore sweat pants and exercise and lost two pounds in 30 minutes. so it may but not sure.
Reply:some people tend to sweat more than others, of course working up a good sweat can indicate a good workout

I would say the main purpose of a "workout" is to get your heart rate up.
Reply:It's good that you jog every day. The cold weather will effect your body teperature and how much you sweat. Its better if you sweat because your body is secreting toxins this way as well so, perhaps try wearing a sweatsuit.
Reply:If you are getting an intense workout you will be breathing heavier, but not running out of breath. You can also measure your pulse rate. You shouldn't go by how much you sweat. It also depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you are trying to lose weight, or get more "cut" it's all about net calories burned, which just means more distance in less time.
Reply:No, you arent sweating as much in cold weather because your body sweats in response to a rise in body temperature due to work out or illness, etc. Because its colder outside, it takes more for your core temperature to rise to the point that your body needs to sweat to keep your body temperature in check. You may be burning the same amount of calories (or whatever), but most of the time if you arent sweating, your body isnt burning as much. Try extending your jog by 15-30 mins to see if that helps. otherwise i would suggest either adding more time than that to your jog, or doing some jogging indoors on a tredmill during the cold seasons.
Reply:ive heard that in cold you burn more calories because your body works harder to produce the sweat...
